Day 5 - Polish Dining

Dinner last night was great. Na Zdrowie is quite cosy restaurant catering for at most 30 - 40 people comfortably. The furnishings and decor had something of a rustic feel about it, from the plates, to the unrendered brick wall with a faux wooden door embedded in it.

Allow me to show you what came out from the Kitchen

As you can tell, some warm and delectable meat dishes to satisfy the carnivore on cold winters evening. As dishes came out one by one, the delicious aromas wafted towards me, taunting and laughing at my self-inflicted misfortune.

So, what does $5 get you at a polish restaurant? My choice for the evening...

Warm stewed red cabbage and apples.

A measly and pitiful dish when compared to the likes of what the others gorged themselves with.
Fortunately, there was fresh rye bread for the table. Needless to say, yours truly was quick to acquaint himself with the bread and introduce it to cabbage.

I am really hoping that there wont be too many celebratory dinner outings this month.

Perhaps some more suggestions for getting cheap or free food is in order.

Jeff's top 10 hints for getting free food. I'm not telling you how many of these I've done myself.

You could:
1) Go fishing
2) Dress up as a bum and get some St Vinnies dinner
3) Wander into a backpackers and have the breakfast there
4) Cook dinners at a friend's place and have some of theirs
5) Hang around a KFC as they are closing and ask if they have any uneaten chicken left
6) Get a gambling mate to blag you into the members lounge at Star City where they supply you with free food.
7) Hang out on the side of the road and wait for some free range freeway cuisine to meet its maker with a semi trailer
8) Go for a walk in the bush and taste test the berries. Just make sure you have a toilet nearby!
9) Stumble around the Cross at 4am and wait for people to discard half of their kebab
and...
10) Do a weekly runner from a restaurant. Make up for your karmic retribution by putting a good review of the restaurant on this site!
